The TR-808's circuitry and parts are also exact replicas of the original.
The handclap VCA chip is the only separate part with equivalent specifications. The sound quality was unchanged.
For production purposes, this is probably preferable.
I initially ordered two units, and although they are not sold as finished products, they were assembled by the same factory.
As you can see from the internal photos, it has a lot of parts, so I think it's quite valuable.
We have been using two Roland TR-808s since the beginning. We only use one in the studio and keep the other as a spare for maintenance. We compare the sound between the actual unit and this one.
Roland TR-808s vary from one to the other due to age.
Since it has individual outputs, I was able to compare the individual sounds, and the overall sound feels consistent and lively.
I also compared them using the master stereo output, and there was no overlap.
You can think of it as a new TR808.
The new Sifam knobs are also a nice touch.
I collect clones from other companies because they're all interesting, but I think the YOCTO is a more perfect reproduction than the NAVA.
