This is a 6-yr-old 4-door Whirlpool counter-depth fridge that is perfectly good, except when it isn't.
It ran fine for 5 years, but recently, it started turning itself off randomly. Just the fridge part - the freezer stays working.
Sometimes it starts back up by itself after a day or so, but usually I need to unplug it and plug it back in, and then it might take a day or two to start cooling the fridge again. Then it will sail along for a few weeks or months before pulling the same trick.
I have had 3 repairmen out who cannot figure out what's wrong. It's not overheating, and checking all the test/error codes doesn't help. The repairmen suggest elusive wiring problems.
I'm going to replace it this Friday. If you want to come get it by noon Fri 1/9 - before the delivery guys arrive and haul it off, you're welcome to it. I'm sure someone can fix it; or it might magically reform its ways once moved - who knows?
